As we bid good-bye to year 19!

Harvest 2009

The 19th edition of the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival closed with a crisp Sunday afternoon full of singing, dancing, clapping and grooving in the picturesque setting of Officers' Square in beautiful downtown Fredericton.

Patrons and volunteers alike are enjoying memories of the amazing talent that descended on us as we celebrated music, community spirit, friends and family. Elvin Bishop, Susan Tedesci, Los lobos, JJ Grey & Mofro, and Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam are only a few of the performers that enthralled and entertained tens of thousands of people during the five day music festival.

Organizers are satisfied that their promise of renewed focus on patron comfort has been delivered in spades. The new Budweiser Blues Tent offered improved sight lines and more seating and was a hit with patrons. The addition of side stage video screens and improved production value was a pleasant surprise for Festival goers and added even more to the Festival experience in 2009!! The redesigned ticketing process helped to decrease wait times to get into the venues. Volunteers were rewarded not only with the knowledge that they contributed to the magic that is Harvest, but also with food, thanks and tremendous appreciation for their wonderful efforts.

As chair of the board, it truly is my pleasure to have worked with the many talented, dedicated, passionate folks who work tirelessly to make this festival happen.

Now, let's start planning number 20...

Yours in music,

Patti Graham
2009 Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival Chair
