The first international jazz star to perform at Harvest, Cuban-American jazz sensation Arturo Sandoval is truly one of the world's great jazz trumpeters and flugel horn players. A four-time Grammy and six-time Billboard award winner, he was a protégé of Dizzy Gillespie and voted Cuba's best instrumentalist from 1982-1990. One of the most vivacious and impressive innovators of Latin-styled jazz, the legend was granted asylum in the U.S. in 1990. His life story was told in the movie "For Love or Country" starring Andy Garcia. In addition to being acknowledged as one of the world's foremost guardians of jazz trumpet, Sandoval is also a renowned classical composer and performer. He is without doubt one of the most brilliant and proliferous musicians of our time.
