First known for his work as an accompanist on harmonica and washboard, Doc proceeded to make his own mark as a guitarist, singer, arranger and band leader. Big Dave is a masterful guitarist and top notch harpist - his raw and gravelly vocals bespeak of a life lived to the fullest, and a career spent performing in and around those countless small towns that dot the Canadian prairies. The two bluesmen met in 1975 at the Winnipeg Folk Festival where they connected immediately over their mutual admiration for the now late great Muddy Waters, with whom they both toured over the years. Doc and Dave are reuniting this year for a special Canadian tour and we are immensely lucky to have them stop in at the Festival.
