Paper Lions are a band whose music is heard by millions every year. There’s just something about the familial blend of John and Rob MacPhee’s vocals, the band’s pop/rock know how and songwriting sensibility, and that feeling best felt at their moving live shows. The PEI pop-rockers exploded on the scene in 2008, going from a bar crowd favourite around the Maritimes to wowing crowds across the planet – from Italy to Nashville, China to New Orleans, and showcasing at the Vancouver Olympics. Formerly known as Chucky Danger, these Harvest favorites have been nominated for a wheelbarrow full of ECMAs and roughly two dozen PEI Music Awards, while they have also been finalists in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition. Their latest and most ambitious album to date, Full Colour, was written to make your day, startle your senses and lift you from the daily cycle, and is “jam packed with arena-sized pop nuggets,” (Pop Matters).
