The latest from the blues band sees Gary Sappier surrounded by a big group of funky players, with lots of sax, keys, solid lead guitar from Smokin’ Tom Moulton and a little bit of harp from Lonesome Jim Lawrence. Sappier doesn’t stick to one style, putting the band through its paces. A snapshot of home, “Tobique Blues” fits into the East Coast Blues school: “We’re living on love in a broken down house / Oh baby, I got the Tobique Blues.” Standout “You Are My Lady” is a sweetly-sung ballad, while “Awe Funk!” showcases the popping bass of Byron Simon. A multi-instrumentalist whose music is a unique combination of Aboriginal flavoured rhythms and soulful blues, Gary Sappier has produced four albums and garnered four ECMA nominations. Having represented Canada in countries such as United Arab Emirates, Dubai, The Netherlands, Afghanistan and the United States, Sappier will join us at Harvest 2016!
