To rock music lovers, say the first name Trey and they’ll know exactly who you mean. Yes, that would be Trey Anastasio, the legendary mind-bending guitarist and front man for Phish; one the biggest rock bands of the last 30 years, and the guy who the members of the Grateful Dead asked to sit in for the late Jerry Garcia for their farewell concerts in July 2015. Over the past three decades, composer/guitarist/vocalist Anastasio has forged a multi-faceted career, winning acclaim in rock, classical and theatrical circles. He has received Grammy nominations for both his recordings with Phish and his solo works. He has collaborated with such artists as Dave Matthews, Herbie Hancock, Carlos Santana, B.B. King, The Roots and – as part of the trio Oysterhead – Les Claypool (Primus) and Stewart Copeland (The Police). When he’s not sending legions of Phish-heads into musical delirium, Trey can be found on the road with the incredibly tight and hard-hitting septet, Trey Anastasio Band. On Harvest Friday, Trey will bring this incredibly talented and accomplished group to Fredericton for the most anticipated show in our history and their only festival date in Canada this summer.
