TJ Wheeler presents “Jazz & Blues Extravaganza” with students of George Street Middle School
Harvest performer and award-winning Blues in the Schools clinician TJ Wheeler is in Fredericton this week – April 30th to May 4th – as part of an educational residency with young musicians at George Street Middle School. He’ll also hold clinics and workshops at some of the First Nations communities around Fredericton where he’ll perform and speak about the history and culture of the blues.
Harvest Adds Keb’ Mo’ and Launches Full Line-up for 2012 Festival
The Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival today released its complete September 11-16 festival schedule, adding multiple Grammy winner Keb’ Mo’ to a line up already heavy with top international and Canadian stars. The Festival also added Ciarlante / Katz / Sharrard, a soul-blues power trio featuring members of The Band and the Gregg Allman Band; and international rising stars The Record Company and Marquise Knox.
Harvest announces Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Matt Andersen for 2012
Harvest announced this morning that Festival favourites and winners of this year’s Grammy for Blues Album, Tedeschi Trucks Band will return to the Festival, along with Allman Brothers drummer Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, and New Brunswick’s own international blues export Matt Andersen.
These three acts come as the final release before the official launch of the full 2012 schedule on Tuesday, April 24th at 11am at the Garrison District Alehouse.
Harvest celebrates Canadian talent with Joel Plaskett Emergency, Kathleen Edwards, Jill Barber, David Myles at 2012 Festival
Harvest Jazz and Blues announced today that four of the top acts in the country – Halifax rockers Joel Plaskett Emergency, Canadian songstresses Kathleen Edwards and Jill Barber, and Fredericton’s own David Myles – will play the 2012 Festival.
In the midst of East Coast Music Awards week – where the best of the East’s established and rising stars are celebrating and being celebrated in Moncton – Harvest is having its own celebration of East Coast and Canadian talent with today’s announcement.
Harvest Announces Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Royal Southern Brotherhood for 2012
Harvest Jazz and Blues revealed more of the 2012 line up today with the announcement that multiple Grammy winner Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, popular jam-rockers Big Head Todd & the Monsters, and brand new soul-blues super group Royal Southern Brotherhood – featuring Devon Allman and the legendary Cyrille Neville – will perform at Harvest this September.
“These are some of the finest performers we’ve ever put on a Harvest stage,” says Brent Staeben, Harvest’s Music Director. “As our previous releases have shown, we’ve diversified the offerings for this year’s Festival, but still remain firmly in the realm of what Harvest audiences know and love – top notch performers who know how to put on an amazing show.
