Calling All Musicians! Galaxie Rising Star Competition and Busking Opportunities

Harvest is proud to announce that, with the continued support of Galaxie - Canada’s favourite continuous music network - 2011 will see the return of the Galaxie Rising Star Competition, offering up-and-coming New Brunswick musicians a chance for exposure at a local, provincial and national level.
The Galaxie Rising Star showcase will take place on Friday, September 16th at the Galaxie Barracks Tent. The winner will receive a generous prize pack including an opening slot on Saturday night for Brooklyn’s The Pimps of Joytime in the Barracks.
We encourage eligible artists to apply through SonicBids by July 22nd.
(To be eligible, applicants must have never played a Harvest Main Stage (Blues, Mojo, Hoodoo, Barracks, Playhouse) and at least 50% of band members must be from NB and/or been living in the province since January 1st, 2011. Finalists will be notified by August 22nd.)

Harvest is seeking local musicians to add sugar and spice to the streets of downtown Fredericton during the Festival!
This is a great opportunity to display your talents to thousands of Festival-goers packing the downtown streets. Due to a high demand for busking spots, music slots will be reserved for local artists only.
We are also seeking street performers to add flare and excitement. These slots are reserved for professional street performers - whether jugglers, fire throwers, acrobats, street theater performers or sidewalk chalk artists - and submissions are accepted from anywhere and everywhere!
To submit for a busking slot, email buskers@harvestjazzandblues.com before July 15th.
