Champion & His G-Strings Will No Longer Appear at 2010 Harvest

June 9, 2010

Harvest Jazz and Blues sadly announces that Champion & His G-Strings will be unable to perform at this year’s Festival due to health issues.

Following a three-week stint in the hospital, Maxime Morin, better known as DJ Champion, has been ordered by doctors to take a break from any physical activity for the next six months, causing him to cancel all appearances throughout the summer and fall, including his Afterburner performance at Harvest.

“It is very disappointing that Champion won’t be able to make it to the Festival, but this is one of those things that, unfortunately, we sometimes have to deal with when running an international Festival,” says Harvest’s music director, Brent Staeben. “We hope Champion has a full and speedy recovery.”

“Now it’s our job to ensure that we have a killer replacement act that will close out the Festival in the same fashion that Champion and his G-Strings would have,” Staeben adds.

The replacement act has not yet been determined, but Staeben is already talking to agents with a list of potential artists. The replacement act will be announced in the coming weeks.

Those who have already purchased tickets to the Saturday Afterburner are able to refund their tickets through Ticketpro or keep them until the replacement act has been announced.
