Fredericton Profiled in National Tourism Contest
February 17, 2010
Fredericton has been chosen as one of the key experiences in a Locals Know contest run by the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC). Submitted by the New Brunswick Department of Tourism & Parks, the Fredericton prize is centered around the 20th anniversary of the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival taking place September 15-19th which includes 2 ultimate passes to the festival, a unique dining experience with an entertainer at the festival, accommodations, meals and much more.
"Harvest's new Deep Blues Experience will take visitors behind the scenes, up close and personal with great blues artists. We're pleased that the Canadian Tourism Commission and the Province of the New Brunswick thought Canadians across the country needed to hear about," said Festival chairperson Brad Wasson.
The contest encourages participants to post their Canadian winter destination for a chance to win one of 13 special trips, one from each province & territory and is focused around the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. "...It is a perfect opportunity for Canadians to share the pride they feel in their country and what it has to offer year-round..." says Gisèle Danis, CTC executive director of Strategic Marketing.
The contest closes March 21. The panel will then sift through the entries based on the uniqueness of each spot, description and its photo. The CTC will notify winners in late March.
