Getting his start with Dutch Mason in 1972, Joe Murphy has been a fixture in the East Coast blues scene for the past forty-five years. In addition to playing with Dutchie through his last album, Murphy also contributed harp to Garrett Mason’s Juno Award winner, I’m Just A Man. Joe’s Water Street Blues Band has backed up Otis Rush, Johnnie Johnson, Johnny Sansone, Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne and the late great Pinetop Perkins, while Joe has also spent time playing with John Lee Hooker and Sunnyland Slim. Joining this titan of Maritime Blues, is the next generation, in the Christine Campbell Band. Striking out on her own from hard-rock band Stone Mary in 2013, this multitalented songwriter and instrumentalist has received standing ovations at her own shows and as a special guest of Chantal Kreviazuk, Steve Earle, Jann Arden and Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band. First off, though, it’s The Honeyboys, with their mix of blues originals, Chicago greats and contemporary gems.
