Each year over 1000 volunteers from Fredericton and beyond come together to make the beloved Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival a success. This year, in lieu of the festival, we are inviting our dedicated volunteers to ‘pass on’ their Harvest volunteer hours to another organization, business, community member or neighbour in need. If you complete 20 hours or more by the end of National Volunteer Week on April 18th, 2021, you’ll receive a special Harvest 29.5 volunteer shirt!
Please follow the steps below to participate in the Harvest Helps community initiative:
Begin by logging in or registering on www.connectfredericton.ca (you can access a sign up instruction sheet HERE, if interested). By registering, you are creating a profile on which you can record your unique volunteer activity.
Once you have signed up and/or logged in with Connect Fredericton, you can respond to the Harvest Helps initiative HERE.
Now is the time to begin searching for volunteer opportunities on the Connect Fredericton site or within your community. These opportunities can include volunteering at a local shelter, for a recreational organization or team, a local business or even helping your neighbour or a family member with groceries or yard work!
Complete your hours!
Once you have completed your volunteer hours, please submit them by visiting your volunteer profile on www.connectfredericton.ca. Select ‘View Your Full Volunteer Resume’ > ‘Track Hours’ > ‘+Hours’ > hour type ‘Harvest Helps’. In the description text box, provide a detailed description of your completed volunteer activities, number of hours, and when they were completed.
